My name is Russell Crosby, and I’ve spent my entire career in the car business. I started selling cars in 1977, and over the years, I’ve worked every desk in the dealership — from salesman to sales manager, used car manager, and eventually general sales manager.
In the early ‘90s, I shifted gears and got deep into the world of subprime auto finance. I had the opportunity to work with some of the top finance companies in the space — including Aegis Auto Finance, Tranex, Triad, Mercury Finance, and Seawest. That experience gave me an inside look at how auto portfolios work from every angle — retail, funding, servicing, and resale.
The Birth of Financial Solutions
In 2004, I saw a clear need in the market. Many Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) dealers were sitting on valuable portfolios of notes but didn’t have the resources to cash them out when needed. Whether they wanted to raise working capital, expand their inventory, or simply exit the business, there wasn’t an easy way to sell those accounts — and that’s where I stepped in.
